thanks! thats encouraging..they already gave us a conditional approval last week asking for some documents, which I sent immediately. They didn't even open my documents for a week, and then the underwriter came back asking for some more things including this I94..these people are crazy! Today's my deadline and i still haven't heard anything

I know many of friends who use IV as recourse for NEWS but they don't register nor contribute. Even after multiple reminders and sarcastic comments they don't. I feel pity for them, they don't understand by registering and contributing they help them self and others. Shouldn�t we make IV a monthly subscription web site? That way we will have only serious members.

I'd say that some small-medium companies either in India or the 50-50 US bodyshops will happily ask the prospective-H1b to pay up Rs. 1,00,000 towards Schumer's fees :D
Anyways, most of these bodyshops in US collect H1b fees from the applicants in India, right ?
Infy, TCS, Satyam etc., will hire more janitors to bring their H1b/L1 % in US :D Or even buyout janitorial services companies :)

The greatness of USCIS is unbelievable!!!!!
When the dates move ahead, to say 2006, the 485s that get approved the most are for people whose PDs are in 2006. The 2004-2005 folks just have to keep starring!!! Then all of a sudden dates fall back to 2003...now only god knows who is yet to be approved in EB2-India before April 2003.
So what it seems like is when the dates move ahead drastically all the people who most recently applied will get approved and for the people who are stuck in backlog will see approvals only if the dates stick around their dates for atleast over a year....until then USCIS doesn't even realize that oh these people are still in queue and we need to approve them!!!
Such a BS to deal with all because of USCIS' GRACE!!!!

Yesterday I sent an e-mail to Secretary Chao indicating poor performance of Philadelphia Backlog Processing Center.
I have done that many times and all she did was referred me to head of foreign Labor certification. She knows what is happening but she could not do anything about it because her hands are tied due to the limited budget allocated for foreign labor certification. Very ironic don't you think. :mad:

Having committed no crime, they have to notify the government every time they change their place of residence � something that, among American citizens, only convicted felons are required to do. They have spent hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars on government-mandated application fees and related costs. They have underwent inordinate amounts of stress making sure their applications were complete and properly filled out in every way, knowing that any error or omission, real or perceived, could get their application automatically rejected. Through it all, they had faith in the system of legal immigration. Now they are being penalized for following the law and for having faith in the system, because the federal government has dealt with them unjustly and deceptively. Such a way of dealing with prospective legal immigrants is sure to deter other highly skilled, intelligent people from wanting to live and work in the US, to the detriment of our country.
I request that you investigate and work to improve the procedures for legal employment-based immigration. Tell me, in any of the bills that came in 2005, PACE, CIR. Dream Act etc., or later, IS there even one mention or a discussion of changing the PD? Let's discuss more on how to bring out more into the open, the issues the H1 visa holders are facing from their small time employers in applying for permanent residence, backlog issues and how redtape is destroying these young men's goals, about lack of visa numbers.
Why there is even a provision in the last Senate bill, for illegals to SELF petition for GC, if employer doen't apply in 2 years. Let's discuss about a similar provision for H1 visa holders who are legally working here, paying taxes. Let's discuss even more important issue.
Why should we pay, SS Tax and Medicare if we are temporary workers. Let them START collecting once I-485 is applied.
This last point will resonate well with all It will be picked up easily; you will see the panic flying in the press, TVs, Senate and what not, when a simple mention of it is made.
These are the practical things we need to discuss. Not a theoritical PD definition, on which we have no locus standi.
This is the most outrageous and ridiculous stuff anyone could have heard. We want to change the laws of the land to benefit us. We are here because WE WANT TO BE HERE .No one is forcing us to work and pay SS tax and Medicare here. So what's next: No State tax too? We are lucky that the core IV team has accomplished so much in such a short time with limited resources. When ever you start working on EAD (filled I-9 form??)..then technically H1-B status will get invalidated...
