seriously , I have seen a couple of people who day dream unrealistic thing and for some time
thinks thats true. This normally happens, when you normally facing a lot of negative things then your mind things of all the good things,( in your shit load of money on stocks and investments). This actually helps keeping one out of depression in the illusional state. but unfortunately fact is fact.
As far as I know, I am pretty aggressive in investment and I am getting @15% right now.. which too in a very unconventional ways.. by investing in forex and start ups with a risk of loosing nearly 80% of the investment in a day. when you 100K-200K and get returns like 100k.. dude that 100%-50% investment.. please let me know where can I do that.
I promise I gonna leave everything and go back with my money make investment in that and live the rest sipping feni by goa beach.
It is not a big deal dude...if not for this immigration system, we could be making even more..think about $80-$100/hr if you are an independent contractor. This a minimum for a decent contract with vendor directly.
And if you have ~100-200K for investments, with some experience and any luck..you could be making another 100K out of it from trading and active investing in other areas. That comes to ~250-300K minimum. There are no bounds when life is free and in this great country. Unfortunately, things have turned discriminative and our potentials are being restricted(atleast for non-EAD guys) and you have to be prepared for getting outright kicked out of this country.

I think priority date is important only for using a visa number for a 485 application which has been adjudicated. What is the use of a 485 application pending processing even if the visa numbers are available for that PD.

Seems like there are so many threads about EAD renewals right now, are we going to be content with renewing EADs for the next 5,6,8 years? While there are no restrictions on discussing individual issues, lets not lose sight of the real cause of our group.

Here is how I came up with that analysis. Last year they made changes to give GC for those stuck in FBI name check if they passed 180 days. So most of the ROW got their GC last year. There were not many labors approved from 2008. So there is no demand from EB2 ROW this year. With the economy going down, not many would get EB1s either. I don't anticipate many EB5s either this year. So major chunk of EB visas will need to come to EB2I/C. Will CIS do that or not is a different story.

USCIS can process recaptured numbers. If 200k numbers are in one year USCIS will plan for 200k numbers in that year.In 2000 they processed more applications after a immigration reform. One way of preventing wastage is plan to process all the applications in 11 months. If any unused numbers can be processed in that one month.

and by your usual logic, why can't they plan for 140,000 every year? they know in advance don't they? there has been a year in which almost half the green cards were wasted- look it up yourself- the fact remains that they waste every year and it is useless to expect that they will suddenly and consistently do much more than is being asked now. unless...something changes...

I don't think so. Eventhough they make U in september bulletin. They have to move dates in October bulletin because of new visa numbers.

HSBC has rejected my refinance application because neither I hold a valid H1B nor a GC. They are rejecting, if you are in AOS not have one of the above docs. BEWARE. Don't loose time and money trying with this bank, if you are in this situation. I heard some success stories, with other banks though. Good luck.

It is a very good idea. Countries which gives Permanent Residency based on the numbers of years stayed, I believe that is what they must be considering as priority date. U.S. immigration system was discovered by Einsteins & Newtons; There are 1000's fo laws & regulation. And look what's the outcome. A person could be waiting for 10 years and another person can get it right away if he/she can find a good old labor :) :) :) :D :D :o :o :mad: :mad:

Thank you to everyone who read the USCIS document and did not press the panic button. The memo talks about a 2 step process....for most of you I don't see how it affects your GC dreams...relax...they will be fulfilled. No sweat...(or convince me otherwise...after all I did get the I-140 exceptional ability in the art or sciences..etc..without labor certification.)
